We invite you to share your knowledge, real world experiences, and practical insights with our community at .BQ Cyber Con 5.0
Convention dates: Thursday 29 October 2026 & Friday 30 October 2026
Location: Bonaire

 

Conference focus by day:
  • 29 October (Thursday): Strategy Day — leadership, governance, policy, risk, awareness, crisis decision-making, capacity building, collaboration, and cybercrime prevention approaches.

  • 30 October (Friday): Technical Day — hands-on, technical deep-dives, tools, tactics, incident response, engineering, threat analysis, and practical technical case studies.

 

About .BQ Cyber Con

The .BQ Cybersecurity Convention is an annual event on Bonaire focused on exchanging knowledge about cybercrime and cybersecurity, while bringing key stakeholders together. Because tackling cybercrime is something we can only do together and strong networks make the difference..

 

We’re excited to invite cybersecurity professionals, cybercrime specialists, researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to take the stage at .BQ Cyber Con 2026. Our goal is to bring practical knowledge, real-world lessons, and actionable insights to the Caribbean cybersecurity community—while welcoming international perspectives that strengthen collaboration and resilience.

Theme 2026: Turning Plans into Performance

 

What we’re looking for

 

We’re especially interested in sessions that are:
  • Inspire, inform, and deliver real value (takeaways attendees can apply)

  • Relevant to real environments (public/private sector, SMEs, critical services, education)

  • Engaging and accessible (different skill levels and backgrounds)

 

We especially value sessions that brings:
  • Case studies (real-world incidents, lessons learned, what worked/what didn’t)

  • Interactive tabletop sessions (TTX) (scenario-based, guided group discussion, decision-making under pressure)

 

Session formats
  • Talks / Case studies: 45 minutes (including Q&A)

  • Interactive tabletop sessions (TTX): 45 minutes or longer if needed (scenario-based and facilitated)

Strategy Day — 29 Oct (6 topics)

  • Ransomware & resilience: lessons from recent Caribbean incidents (Case Study / Talk)

  • Cybersecurity in critical digital infrastructure: government & supply chains (Talk)

  • Incident response vs crisis management: roles, responsibilities & handover moments (Talk / TTX-lite for leadership)

  • Hospitality & tourism: cyber risk, business continuity & customer trust (Talk)

  • Regional threat intelligence & collaboration (CARICOM/KPCN): what works in practice (Talk / Interactive session)

  • Cyber resilience for SMEs: practical steps for small organisations (Talk / Mini-workshop)

 

Technical Day — 30 Oct (6 topics)

  • Ransomware case study deep dive: attack chain → containment → recovery (Case Study)

  • Hands-on IR fundamentals: triage, scoping, and evidence preservation (Workshop)

  • Logging & visibility that actually helps during incidents (M365/Cloud/SIEM basics) (Workshop)

  • Detection engineering: turning threats into alerts (practical examples) (Workshop / Hands-on)

  • Identity attacks in the real world: MFA fatigue, token theft & misconfigurations (Case Study + hardening)

  • Hospitality technical security deep dive: PMS/POS/Wi-Fi, third parties & incident playbooks (Case Study / Workshop)

Selection process

All submissions are reviewed by our team.

Please note:

  • A selection process will take place before final confirmations are sent

  • We may suggest small changes to improve fit, clarity, or timing

  • You will receive a response after the review period with next steps

 

 

How to submit

Please include:

  1. Session title

  2. Session type: Talk / Case Study / Tabletop (TTX)

  3. Preferred day: Strategy Day (29 Oct) or Technical Day (30 Oct) (or “either”)

  4. Session summary (150–300 words)

  5. Key takeaways (3–5 bullet points)

  6. Speaker bio (50–120 words) + LinkedIn (optional)

  7. Speaker photo (high-resolution headshot, preferred landscape or square)

  8. Any AV or setup needs (demo, audio, room layout, materials)

  9. If applicable: travel & accommodation support request (a simple note is enough)
